The City of Ann Arbor's Police Department has developed a comprehensive enforcement strategy plan to improve the safety and accessibility of bike lanes by addressing parking, driving, and object placement violations, with efforts spanning public outreach, enforcement, and education. This initiative includes a data visualization platform that displays time data on police dispatch calls, citations for bike lane obstructions, and A2 Fix It requests related to vehicles and curb carts in bike lanes, with an interactive heatmap available under the ‘spatial’ tab to identify hotspots.
The data is refreshed during the first week of the month, providing valuable insights to support ongoing efforts to foster a safer environment for cyclists, pedestrians, and drivers.
